1.Subscription and purchases

What does Premium include?

The whole cookbook (1,129 recipes from 127 countries), unlimited swipes, the weekly planner with “Fill my week”, the shopping list and no ads at all. You can choose a monthly or a yearly plan.

How does the 7-day free trial work?

It comes with the yearly plan and Apple offers it the first time you subscribe. For those 7 days you get all of Premium. Two days before it ends we send you a reminder (if you allow notifications). Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends and you won't be charged.

You can see when your trial ends in Today › profile icon › Settings.

How do I cancel my subscription?

On your iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › What to Eat. Or in the app: Today › profile icon › Settings › Manage subscription.

Deleting the app or your data doesn't cancel the subscription: Apple manages it.

I've got a new iPhone and Premium isn't there

Go to Settings › Data and account › Restore purchases with the same Apple ID you subscribed with. Premium comes back in a few seconds.

I'd like a refund

Apple handles charges and refunds. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com with your Apple ID.

2.Using the app

How many recipes can I see for free each day?

The free version gives you 5 swipes a day (saving and passing both count). If you want more, you can watch a short ad for 5 extra passes, up to 3 times a day. The counter resets every day. Premium has no limit.

Why do some recipes have a padlock?

Every country has 7 free recipes, picked from its best-known dishes. The rest are Premium: you can see them in the deck and in Explore, but their ingredients and steps open with Premium. Recipes you've already saved stay open.

How does “What's in my kitchen?” work?

It's in Explore. Type the ingredients you have (for example: eggs, potatoes, onion) and the recipes that use most of them come first. It searches every language of the recipe and understands singular and plural.

Can I change the servings?

Yes. On a recipe, tap − or + next to “Serves” and the quantities are recalculated (grams to kilos and back, too). “Reset” returns to the recipe's own. Always double-check spices, raising agents and oven times, which don't always scale the same way.

How do I turn on the daily reminder?

In Settings › Reminders, switch on “Daily reminder” and pick a time. The first time, the app asks for permission to send notifications. If you said no before, a button takes you to the iPhone settings to allow them.

I have allergies or follow a diet

You can filter by diet (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free…), but the labels are a guide. Always check ingredients, allergens and cross-contamination before cooking.

3.Data, iCloud and privacy

How do I sync my recipes between iPhone and iPad?

Sign in with the same Apple ID on both and leave iCloud on for What to Eat. Your saved recipes, skipped recipes and weekly plan sync by themselves; in Settings › Data and account you can check the status or tap “Sync now”.

Does it work offline?

Yes. The cookbook is inside the app, so you can search, save and cook without internet. Changes are uploaded to iCloud when you're back online.

How do I delete all my data?

In Settings › Data and account › Delete my data. It erases the data on the device and in your private iCloud. If you're offline at the time, the iCloud deletion finishes as soon as you reconnect. It doesn't cancel your subscription.

What data do you collect?

As little as possible: there are no accounts or emails. It's all explained in the privacy policy.

4.Something isn't working

The app doesn't load recipes or closes

Update the app and iOS to the latest version and restart your iPhone. If it keeps happening, email us with your device model, iOS version and app version (Settings › About › Version).

A recipe has a mistake or the wrong photo

That really helps. Email us the recipe name and what's wrong, and we'll fix it in the next update.

5.Requirements

  • iPhone or iPad with iOS 17 or later.
  • English and Spanish (following the device language).
  • Internet only for iCloud, purchases and the optional ads.
